Teacher of the Year

Congratualtions Mrs. Allen
The Michael E. Fossum Teacher of the Year for 2013 is Carol Ann Allen.  Mrs. Allen has been teaching ELA for 15 years and has been at Fossum for five years, since it first opened.  She is currently serving as IB Coordinator and English Department Chairperson.  Mrs. Allen attended McAllen schools and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in English and Journalism.
IPad App redemption codes

The district is providing one set of app redemption codes to the family for use by all family members with Apple mobile devices. That would also include any personal Apple mobile devices the parents may have such as iPhones, iPads, or iPod Touches.

The codes for Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie, and Garage Band and redemption instructions have been sent to the email of the Primary Guardian listed in Skyward Thursday, December 6, 2012.

When the Primary Guardian redeems the codes, they are essentially purchasing the apps.  The codes give them ownership of the apps when redeemed using an Apple ID and are then permanently associated with that one Apple ID account only.   The codes can only be used once and cannot be transferred to any other Apple ID account once they are redeemed.  The Primary Guardian will then install the apps on each device in their household using that one Apple ID.

To install the apps on other Apple mobile devices, they must first open the App Store on the device and log in using the Apple ID associated with the codes they redeemed.  Then search for each app and they will find a button labeled “Install”.  They can install each app, in turn, on all devices using the one Apple ID that was used to redeem the codes and is associated with the apps they now own.
